US Charge d'Affaires completes her tenure in Turkmenistan 08.07.2010 On July 6, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Turkmenistan, Sylvia Reed Curran, who has completed her diplomatic mission to Turkmenistan.The diplomat thanked the head of state for the Turkmen government's support and assistance in her activities aimed at the full-scale development of the traditional partnership. She also noted the personal contribution of the President of Turkmenistan to strengthening the Turkmen-American relations that have got a great boost in recent years.
As the Turkmen leader noted, the cooperation with the United States remains one of the strategic vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan. According to him, "the trustful relations between Turkmenistan and the United States that grow year by year allowed us to raise the bilateral dialogue to a qualitatively new level of mutual interest, as exemplified by the successful implementation of joint projects that have enriched the experience of interaction in many important areas, including fuel and energy sector, health, education, agriculture and other key areas."
During the meeting, the Turkmen leader and the diplomat exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the further development of interstate cooperation structured around the national interests and priorities of socio-economic development of the two countries, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) said. |
